LAYERS OF PROTECTION
Guardian Pool Fence Systems Inc. incorporated in January 1995 and has been shipping products to its dealer network since March 1995. Steven Sadinsky, the President and CEO of Guardian Pool Fence Systems has been involved with removable mesh fencing since 1988, when he found himself with the same problems he now finds his retail customers confronted with. (His wife was pregnant and they had a swimming pool in the backyard.) Parents don't know what to do to protect their own children from the swimming pool in their own backyards!

As a State Licensed Contractor in California, he never had to deal with this type of problem before. The more he investigated this issue, the more he realized that this problem wasn’t so simple. Even in his backyard, the solutions caused problems that made the original problem much more difficult to deal with. In his backyard, the pool was about 5 feet from a sliding door. Because of the pool design, (kidney shaped) an automatic pool cover would protect the pool, but the cover was also going to cover a large portion of his deck.

Taking out the trash from the back door would require walking OVER the cover! The wear and tear on the cover as well as the aesthetic issue would have been unacceptable. It also was going to cover about 40% of his usable deck space. His other option was a wrought iron fence. However, due to building code regulations, metal fencing REQUIRED (National Electrical Code) the fence to be a minimum of 5 feet from the edge of the pool. He only had 5 feet to the door from the pool. Installing the fence would not protect the main entrance to his backyard, nor would it allow enough backyard space for his child to have a place to play because the fence location would have isolated about 75% of usable deck space.

When he discovered removable fencing it solved each and every problem! Following the pool shape all the way around the perimeter 24" from the edge took away the accessibility of the pool from his child; allowed enough room inside the fence to use the pool with comfort as well as the ability to clean the pool without taking the fence down; it gave his son a play yard and left the entire backyard as usable space for the entire family!. When taking out the trash, he didn’t have to touch the fence, which made the fence even safer, because he was able to install an isolation barrier instead of a “pass thru barrier”. This meant that no one had to touch the fence unless they were going to use the pool.That is as safe as you can make a swimming pool! (When this system was installed in 1988, there were no self closing gates available that would operate with a removable mesh fence)

The dealer network that Guardian has put together since 1988 is now all over the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, The Bahamas, France, Spain, Portugal, and throughout the European Union! There are tens of thousands of installations WORLDWIDE. The majority of these were specifically designed to protect swimming pools. Occasionally, our company is called on to protect ravines, seawalls, canyons or special projects. We even installed a fence at a religious Sunday school to keep the toddlers away from the older kids while their parents were in church! However our main focus is swimming pool protection for children and it always will be.

All dealers are trained by Guardian on the installation of our fencing and on the installation of our Self Closing, Self Latching, Key Lockable and REMOVABLE Gate. We worked on this gate design with engineers for many months when we were in development.

We went into production of this gate in January of 1996 and in May 1996 we applied for a UNITED STATES PATENT on this gate. Our PATENT was issued in September 1997 because we were able to prove to the US patent office that at least two companies had stolen our gate design. It is the design of this gate that assures parents that the magnetic latch on this gate system will close each time! The lack of a crossbar on the top of our gate also makes it very difficult for children to climb. No other pool fence company has a gate without a top crossbar. This is only ONE of NINETEEN claims approved by the United States Patent Office on our gate design!

Our question to you, the parent and homeowner is:

“Why would you put up a fence that has no top crossbar anywhere on it and then install a gate with a top crossbar that allows children to climb up and over the system you put in to prevent such an occurrence?”

30" or 36" pole spacing is available on 48" heights only. (54” and 60" heights only available in 30" pole spacing).
STAINLESS STEEL SAFETY GATE HOOKS with the option of adding our SOLID BRASS PADLOCKS to our hooks to prevent the unauthorized removal of the pool fence.

Installation training is not difficult, but there are things you need to understand before you attempt an installation of the fence and/or the gate. Installation training is provided at no charge for all dealers and usually lasts about 5 days. Marketing techniques and methods of lead generation are also discussed while training. About 50% of all Guardians’ dealers do this on a full time basis and work from their homes. Almost all the remaining dealers are involved in the swimming pool industry, fence industry or in some service related field

With the availability of our Self closing Gate, we have seen a large increase in leads from POOL BUILDERS. New regulations recently enacted across the country at the local and State levels require 60" high fencing WITH SELF CLOSING GATES. As these new laws go into effect our extensive product line of over 40 different models of mesh fencing and our gate system will become the product of choice by pool builders, architects and parents and grandparents.
